SimonAndMiranda

Simon and Miranda got married on 24th July – but it’s taken me a while to even get started on processing their photos since I’ve been on holiday. The wedding was a civil ceremony at Friar’s Court, in association with Silver Pear Weddings. The owner of the property was extremely helpful and was keen that I had access to everything I needed (including coffee) to get the best photographs possible for Simon and Miranda. The registar was also very helpful and was happy for photographs to be taken during the service.

The was uncertainty for most of the morning as to whether the wedding would be inside or outside, because there was a significant threat of rain. However, other than one brief shower this didn’t materialise, and the weather was pretty nice all day. The ceremony took place outside, under a rose arbor. It was very pretty, although it did mean the bride and groom were either in direct sun (not great for the photos) or hidden away in the very small rose arbor (also not great for photos). The rest of the location was great and enabled us to do some beautiful shots of them as a couple.

The wedding breakfast took place in the barn on-site, and was followed by a disco in the evening. Normally I don’t take too many photos while people are eating (since people don’t look that good when they have their mouths wide open). But I wasn’t left without a job – I ended up with the slightly unusual task of reading a story to one of the smaller guests, who had befriended me. Perhaps I should now offer wedding photography and children’s entertainment as a joint package!
