The name trash-the-dress is a little misleading really; the aim of the session isn’t to destroy your dress, it’s to make great portraits of the bride and groom in their wedding gear. For this reason Trash-the-dress sessions are also know by a number of other names, including “fearless-bride”, “extreme bridal” and “rock the frock”. This guide will give you a brief introduction to what we believe Trash-the-dress sessions to be about, and what services we offer.
The chances are that the bride will want to look spotless for her entire wedding day, which may prohibit some more interesting portrait photos. However, before you hang the wedding dress up, or even get it dry cleaned, perhaps you want to consider getting some more artistic photos done without worrying so much about the dress. Generally, the dress will only need dry cleaning after such a session. In a typical session we will try a number of poses and locations (at the one main location) to give you a wide range of photos to choose from. If you have a particular idea in mind, the photographer will be happy to hear your suggestions and discuss them with you – afterall the aim of the session is to get a photo that you like.
For trash-the-dress sessions we recommend you allow at least a Half-day shoot starting from £100, includes three 12×8 prints or one 12×8 gallery style print, mounted and ready to show. Addition prints will are made available online from £4.
